Early Intervention: State Systematic Improvement Grant (Family Centered)
Project Description:
Under the direction of Ms. Emma Brezel we collaborated with the other two New York State UCEDDs and New York State Department of Health (NYSDOH) in a learning collaborative. This effort involved staff and parents to improve the family centeredness of Early Intervention. A January 2017 kick-off at the RFK UCEDD covered an overview of the plan, defined family-centered practices, SMART goals, and how to measure progress. Among the 45 participants, were 12 from NYC DOH, 7 parents. 6 RFK UCEDD staff and 2 NYS DOH staff. We have had 6 months of calls, including 15 team calls and 1 webinar on family-centered practices. Participants have consistently rated our calls as useful and have given written feedback regarding future calls.
