COVID-19 Vaccine Dissemination Project
Project Description:
CDC COVID-19 information will be tailored for three audiences: people with disabilities, family
members of people with disabilities, and Direct Support Professionals (DSPs). Information will be
disseminated through MI-DDIs website as well as the UCEDDs Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube
accounts. Information will be emailed directly to key stakeholders at Michigan-based disability
organizations. Each set of communications will be offered in the following forms: o Original written
format o Plain language formats o Spanish translations (Julia Hernandez) o Voice over/Closed
Captioned (CC) versions of materials for video (YouTube) o Accessible infographics (graphical
representation) Messages from AUCD-developed templates will be disseminated using the following
communication channels: o MI-DDI Facebook and Twitter social media platforms, including tagging of
key disability organizations within Michigan to foster engagement through post-sharing. o MI-DDI
Website, including a stand-alone webpage to house COVID-19 vaccine hesitancy materials. o
Mailchimp email blasts to MI-DDIs statewide list of eNewsletter subscribers, to reach Michigan
providers, including DSPs, persons with disabilities, family members, and individuals affiliated with
Michigan schools and agencies. o Direct email to key stakeholders at Michigan-based disability
organizations. Grant funds will be used to promote AUCD-developed message templates through paid
ads on Facebook and Twitter.
