Project Description:
Partners in Health (PIH) provides training for health care providers, self-advocates, and family members/support personnel that is centered on inclusive and effective health care for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD). Trainings are co-facilitated by Center for Human Development personnel, self-advocates, and parent/guardians. Each session focuses on increasing best practice communication strategies, enhancing the understanding of the healthcare experience for someone with I/DD, and provides tools and resources for further use by session participants.
