Project Description:
The Louisiana DeafBlind Project is part of a nationwide network of technical assistance and dissemination programs funded by the U.S. Department of Education, Office of Special Education Programs. The over-arching goal of the Project is to assure school aged individuals with deafblindness have access to specialized supports and services necessary for optimal development and learning. The Project supports students and their families, teachers, and schools through early identification of individuals with deafblindness, providing technical assistance to families and professionals supporting these students and increasing the awareness of deafblindness within the health and education professions.
