Project Description:
Project Focus The DRSE Consortium has 13 member States. The purpose for the Consortium is to provide networking opportunities and training to special education mediators, complaint investigators, due process hearing officers, and SEA staff regarding legal issues and effective strategies for resolving disputes between parents and school districts/charters. The Consortium States will collaboratively establish and maintain dispute resolution workgroups in the area of mediation, complaint investigation, and due process hearing. Project Services 1) In two States, TAESE recruits and trains special education dispute resolution specialists, including mediators, complaint investigators, and due process hearing officers for State Education Agencies. 2) In two States, TAESE manages travel and reimbursement arrangements for contract dispute resolution specialists in the partner States.
