Newborn Intensive Care Center Follow-up
Project Description:
Babies born prematurely weighing 1000 grams or less are at risk for developmental disabilities. The Boling Center has provided developmental follow-up for "graduate" of the NICU of Regional Medical Center at Memphis (The Med) since 1983. Because of decreases in funding current services are limited to follow-up by developmental pediatrics. The goal is to detect developmental disabilities as early as possible and route these children into intervention to minimize if not overcome any disabilities.
