Project Description:
Project EPICS is a 5 year grant funded from the U.S. Department of Education, Office of Special Education Programs (OSEP). This project is designed to work collaboratively with the University of Guam CEDDERS and San Jose State University (SJSU), California to provide the opportunity for up 20 speech-language pathology (SLP) graduate students representing a variety of islands in the Pacific, including Guam, Northern Mariana Islands, Federated States of Micronesia, Republic of Palau, American Samoa, and the Republic of the Marshall Islands. The $1.25 million grant is a five-year graduate program leading to a master's degree that will use effective and scientifically-based curricula and pedagogy to prepare personnel who will: 1. Improve outcomes for students with disabilities and; 2. foster appropriate access to and achievement in the general education curricula. Courses will be delivered through a combination of on-line and on-site classes.
