Goal 1: Postdoctoral Scholar Program The postdoctoral scholar program is a collaborative initiative between the College of Education, Department of Educational Leadership Studies (EDL) and the Human Development Institute. The overall goal of the program is to support advanced training in the translation of research to practice in the area of early care and education policy and leadership. Scholars focus on research and the use of administrative data to support state and national policy in the area of early childhood (Grant Proposal Potential). To date four scholars have participated in the program since its creation in 2013. Goal 2: Research Design and implement research studies that include, but may not be limited to: a)national study of early childhood transition services and supports b)the role of implicit bias in early childhood screening and assessment c)supporting mathematics instruction by early care and education professionals Launch an Ideas of Distinction program to provide seed funding to support state-of-the-art research focused on young children at risk for and with developmental disabilities. One award per year. Goal 3: Professional Development Develop and expand the number of online professional learning modules focused on early childhood recommended practice, leadership and policy.
