3.7.1 Support trauma professional development and continuing education in trauma and resiliency
Project Description:
Support trauma professional development and continuing education in trauma and resiliency. Specifically, this opportunity will allow for Dr. Wilson to become a certified trauma practitioner. This will benefit her work and future expertise for working with populations that have experienced trauma. Additionally, this will provide an opportunity for the team working with the PATHS Program through health (healthy relationships and physical activity) to engage in online professional development opportunities. Finally, while the funds for this project will be spent on registration expenses, research to inform a trauma-informed approach to healthy relationships while working with people with disabilities and their trusted peers/network will be explored. Skills learned can enhance partnerships beyond CDD and PATHS and will be used to inform a Victims of Violence project, work with schools and clinics. I will happily work with Dr. Orsag to report on progress and impact.
