Project Description:
Individuals with brain injury in Alaska are significantly underserved and the majority of individuals hospitalized for their injury are discharged home with little to no support. Many individuals leave the state for more specialized long-term care. Services for individuals are limited and there is no waiver or other payment system for services typically needed by individuals as they recover.
The project will use Project ECHO to improve the continuum of care for individuals with brain injury by supporting a provider education/mentor network through the Head Injury ECHO and by supporting a pilot ECHO for individuals with brain injury and family members. This project will also support an in-person meeting for the Traumatic and Acquired Brain Injury (TABI) Advisory Committee.
