Project Description:
The Sonoran UCEDD is working the AZ Governors Council on Spinal and Head Injuries which is housed within the AZ DES Rehabilitation Services Administration (RSA) to enhance person-centered practices in the area of brain injury services and supports through: Providing technical assistance and education on person-centered practices to the Council which may include staff, members, and contractors, as well as Vocational Rehabilitation TBI and SCI specialists. Conducting research on person-centered thinking and practices in relation to supported decision making, trauma informed care and brain injury informed care which will result in a product that compares and connects these concepts. Development of a training curriculum on person-centered practices in relation to serving individuals with spinal and head injuries for the Council and its stakeholders to incorporate best practices for these populations. This partnership includes the formation of a state team to participate in the national NCAPPS Brain Injury Learning Collaborative to help enact systems change for enhancing person-centered practices for brain injury services and supports through Plan-Do-Study-Act cycles.
