Project Description:
This project is to implement the 'No Wrong Door System Funding Opportunity:Critical Relief Funds for COVID-19 Pandemic Response' designed for individuals with disabilities and those who are elderly. The project will conduct a rapid assessment of the impact of COVID-19 on individuals with disabilities and those who are elderly across the state. The survey will focus on the emergent needs of the workforce typically serving this population, the emerging workforce, individuals needing transition support, and potential service gaps related to housing, food, medications, medical equipment, in-home support services, and personal protective equipment. Information will also be collected on social isolation and safety concerns. Based on the results of the survey, funds will be distributed through regional partners across the state. Additionally, a database will be created to track information pertinent to the needs of individuals with disabilities and older adults impacted by COVID-19. Certain data elements, such as technology needs, in-home service gaps and regional variations will be aggregated to use in advising policy makers regarding systems change once the state of emergency has passed. This data will hopefully position the state to better respond to future emergencies that may occur.
