ACS RTCCL Study 2 Effects of government policies such as the 2014 HCBS Settings Rule and Medicaid Self Directed Services options on Community living
Project Description:
1. Medicaid funding authorities and policies for long-term services and supports (LTSS)are updated regularly and ongoing evaluation of their effect on the target population is needed.
2. Goals
- Evaluate the extent to which people with IDD access Medicaid-funded LTSS,
- Evaluate changes in the pattern of residential setting types reported for people with IDD before and after implementation of the 2014 HCBS settings rule.
- Conduct environmental scan to describe current use of intentional communities and nontraditional settings to house LTSS recipients with IDD
- Conduct case studies in 6 states describing the characteristics of intentional communities and nontraditional settings for LTSS recipients with IDD
3.Features - Policy studies, Use of secondary data analyses to evaluate outcomes of Medicaid Policy
4. Benefits - identify factors associated with state variability in changes associated with the implementation of SDS and the HCBS Settings Rule.
