Supported Decision Making Across the Lifespan Planning Grant
Project Description:
The Indiana Institute on Disability and Community at Indiana (IIDC) University is pleased to submit this letter of commitment to Indiana Disability Rights (IDR) in response to the application for the Supported Decision Making Across the Lifespan Planning Grant, sponsored by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Administration on Community Living.
Located in Bloomington, Indiana, we will work closely with IDR to implement the planning grant activities to ensure the State of Indiana is positioned with actionable steps to increase access to supported decision making and other alternatives to guardianship. Specifically, we will support research and information gathering activities, assist in preparing the draft and final action plan, engaging in stakeholder feedback activities, and assist in dissemination activities.
The IIDC agrees to conduct this work for $25,000 over the course of the proposal, while limiting indirect costs to 5% as expected by IDR.
The project team has decades of experience in intellectual and development disabilities, issues related to guardianship and alternatives nationally and in Indiana, and we look forward to lending our expertise to IDR and this project.
