Validating the School-based outcomes Measure (SOM): An Outcomes Measure for Students who receive School-based Occupational and Physical Therapy research is a national study from the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center (OUHSC). It is funded by the Department of Education, Institute of Educational Sciences. The SOM is a novel minimal data set with potential to capture and measure outcomes of students who receive school- based Occupational Therapy (OT) and Physical Therapy (PT). This project seeks to validate the SOM. The PI of the study is Sandra Arnold. I am the Scientific Site Coordinator (SSC) for Missouri and Kansas. As the SSC, my role is to recruit, coordinate and train school based OTs and PTs on how to complete the SOM and the Pediatric Evaluation of Disability Inventory (PEDI-CAT). The SOM and PEDI-CAT are completed at three time points during the school year. The study is scheduled to end June 30, 2020.
