Project Description:
Development of the following two reports for the Urban League. l. The 2019 State of Black Kansas City (also known as The 2019 Black Equality Index), and 2. The 2019 State of Hispanic (Latino/Latina) Kansas City (or, The 2019 Hispanic Equality Index) In developing the above 2 reports, UMKC will complete the following: 1. Collect relevant data for the five-county Greater Kansas City area (Jackson, Clay, and Platte Counties in Missouri and Johnson and Wyandotte Counties in Kansas). 2. Tabulate and compute data indices equivalent to previous editions of The State of Black Kansas City (2006-10) for both Black and Hispanic (Latino/Latina) populations of the designated geographic area. 3. Prepare a template for reporting the data in these two products: The State of Black Kansas City and The State of Hispanic Kansas City. 4. Prepare tables reporting these indices and their calculation, together with an accompanying descriptive narrative. 5. Develop and produce a set of current maps portraying conditions represented in the data and constructed indices, together with descriptive narrative.
