Project Description:
The National Center on Inclusive Education (NCIE) was awarded $35, 000 to explore the feasibility of expanding and changing the mission of the Center. Historically, the NCIE has focused on developing supports and systems change for students with developmental disabilities. Now, the NCIE will explore the viability of expanding and rebranding its mission, vision, activities, and organizational structure to reflect a broader population of children and their families who are considered vulnerable as a result of lower socioeconomic status, emotional and /or behavioral challenges, disability, abuse and/or neglect, chronic health conditions, and/or cultural, ethnic, or racial identity. The purpose of the meetings is to explore new partnerships between departments and organizations both inside and outside of UNH focused on promoting resilience for children, youth, and their families through interdisciplinary opportunities such as grant writing, new coursework and programs, research, technical assistance, and professional development offerings.
