Project Description:

The Neurocognitive (FASD) Clinic is the only program in New Mexico that provides interdisciplinary clinical evaluations of children with prenatal alcohol exposure to determine diagnosis and to develop intervention plans. In addition to FASD assessments, the clinical team conducts neuropsychological evaluations on children and adults with genetic disorders such as neurofibromatosis, Down Syndrome, PKU, etc with a focus on developing intervention and educational programs. Other services provided by the program includes: working with parents to develop appropriate plans to address cognitive and behavioral problems in children; providing educational workshops and training to professionals and parents regarding diagnosis, intervention, and research in the area of neurodevelopmental disorders, specifically FASD; and serving as advocates for children with FASD.
