Fiscal Year:
2020
Contact Information:
Project Description:
As a UCEDD, the Institute is funded under the provisions of the Developmental Disabilities Assistance and Bill of Rights Act of 2000 by the Administration on Developmental Disabilities in the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. The federal law provides funding to several other Minnesota organizations: the Minnesota Governor's Council on Developmental Disabilities and the Minnesota Disability Law Center. At the Institute, we believe that all persons with developmental and other disabilities should live as valued members of local communities. We seek to make this possible through improving the services and social supports available to individuals with disabilities and their families. The Institute carries out this mission through research, professional training, technical assistance, and publishing activities, in collaboration with others across the US and abroad.
