The Impact of Social Skills Intervention on Brain Functioning in Autism
Project Description:
This study seeks to determine the effect of a group of social skills intervention on social information processing at the neural level in teens and young adults with Autism Spectrum Disorders.The project will utilize FMRI methodology to assess neural activity during a series of social cognition tasks, both before and after participators complete the PEERS social skills intervention. Changes in neural activity patterns at each point will be assessed and compared to those of wait-list and typically developing control participants.
