Fiscal Year:
2019
Contact Information:
Project Description:
Long-term community-based trainees (1-2) participate in UCEDD projects and follow a learning curriculum focused on intellectual/developmental disabilities and leadership. The state has a relatively low number of advocate leaders. especially those with lived disability experience. The goal is to build the trainee's skills and leadership abilities in order to positively impact disability policy and practice in the state. This is accomplished through self-study, clinical observation and involvement, and direct participation in UCEDD project and other campus learning activities. The trainees set their own specific outcome goals with guidance; the overall goal is to increase family and professional disability leadership in the state.
