C3 - Cultivating Community Capacity

Cultivating Community Capacity (C3) will provide a system-level and community-level intervention with the intention of: Providing opportunities for healing for victims of domestic violence and sexual assault within the Arkansas Deaf Community. Increasing the capacity within the Arkansas Deaf Community to create trauma-sensitive settings (trauma-informed schools, dorms and spaces) to enable continued opportunities for support and healing. Goal 1: Develop materials and resources for an educational intervention that addresses understanding trauma and its impact, creating trauma-informed settings (schools, dorms and spaces), and developing pathway to healing from trauma. Goal 2: Increase capacity of project staff, Deaf community members and allies in the victim services community to respond to victims who are Deaf and to build trust and understanding. Goal 3: Deliver training and disseminate resources to Arkansas Deaf community members through co-facilitation by teams made up of project staff and Deaf community members.
