Project Description:
<p>The UW Autism Center- Tacoma is a satellite site of the UW Autism Center, one of eight major programs of the University of Washington Center for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities. The UW Autism Center- Tacoma provides an array of clinical services and is a vehicle for training professionals and paraprofessionals to meet the needs of individuals with autism spectrum disorder (ASD).</p>
<p>At the UW Autism Center- Tacoma, diagnostic evaluations and interventions are provided by a multi-disciplinary team that includes psychologists, behavior analysts, and speech / language pathologists. The mission of the UW Autism Center- Tacoma's training program is to increase the capacity of the South Puget Sound area to serve children with ASD by providing high-quality training to community professionals and students. Community engagement is an integral part of the mission. As founding members of the South Sound Autism Partnership - this coalition of service providers, advocates, families, and community members work together to improve the effectiveness of autism service delivery in the South Puget Sound area.</p>
