Project Description:
This project brings leaders in Disability and Aging together in a Work Group to discuss topics of collaboration between agencies. Bringing experts in the field from ILRU and n4a, and invite leaders from Centers for Independent Living and Area Agencies on Aging, to identify best practices in collaboration. Independent Living Research Utilization (ILRU) provides training, technical assistance, and information dissemination on a number of topics and in a variety of formats. On-location, online and on-demand trainings, Webinars and teleconferences provide timely information on a wide range of topics. Technical assistance is provided on-demand as needs are identified. The Aging and Disability Business Institute (Business Institute) is led by The National Association of Area Agencies on Aging (n4a) in partnership with the most experienced and respected organizations in the aging and disability networks. Together, these organizations provide community-based organizations (CBOs) with the tools and resources to successfully adapt to a changing health care environment, enhance their organizational capacity and capitalize on emerging opportunities to diversify funding. Serving as the national focal point to build the business acumen of CBOs, the Business Institute focuses on building skills and knowledge across business disciplines, while looking ahead to the future of aging and disability services. The goal is to identify exemplary business practices of disability and aging community based organizations, develop and edit case studies of exemplary organizations, and perform other related work in support of the initiative
