Project Description:
The Autism Programs host a yearly residential camp, Camp Rising Sun, for individuals with ASD and their typical peers, ages 8-17. During the two, five day camp experience, didactic and hands-on training is provided for University students, paraprofessionals, professionals and community volunteers. A leadership training program for individuals aged 16-17 is provided to assist them in knowledge about ASD. Camp assistants are also provided technical assistance throughout the camp sessions to increase their participation in pre-employment activities.
