Project Description:

The over-arching goal is to of the proposed research is to describe Filipino childrens mental health service needs and utilization patterns. The specific aims of this part of the project is to conduct grounded theory qualitative research that examines unmet mental health needs and describes precursors to mental health problems in Filipino youth. The findings from the qualitative research will be used to inform the development a survey instrument that will in turn be used in a large-scale study that will focus on the mental health symptoms, mental health care utilization, and precursors of mental illness among Filipino children.
