LA Care Developmental Screening and LInkage
Project Description:
Developmental screening is an eligible benefit for children with Medicaid insurance, yet many primary care providers are unaware of current and best practices for implementing developmental screenings and often lack training and validated screening tools. This TA project includes reviewing and synthesizing existing reports and published literature on developmental screening, interviewing leaders/participants in prior LA County developmental screening efforts and key informants, conducting practice observations and interviews with primary care physicians seeing young children with LA Care insurance, and developing recommendations for LA Care to implement to improve developmental screening practices for children ages 0 - 3 in the LA Care network.
