Emergency Preparedness (DEMA)

Center:
Fiscal Year:
2018
Contact Information:
Project Description:
People with disabilities often face additional challenges during an emergency situation and the EPID project focuses on inclusive emergency planning and preparedness at the individual, family, local and State levels in Delaware. Staff provide training on preparedness for the public at large and individuals with disabilities (IWD) and their families. The training will ensure that people with disabilities and their families are more self-sufficient when emergencies arise. In addition, the funding partially supports CDS staff's participation as AUCD's representative to the Federal Communication Commission's Disability Advisory Committee. The support for these activities is provided by the Delaware Citizen Corps program.
