Project Description:
The purpose of this project is to explore the understanding of both parent and service provider perspectives and knowledge on bilingual language development when it comes to young children with developmental disabilities. We plan to survey parents who speak more than one language and have a children with or without a developmental delay. The survey is designed to investigate how parents make decisions regarding language exposure for their young child with developmental disabilities, and includes information about input from health care and early intervention providers regarding the impact and/or advantages of exposure to more than one language when child has a developmental disability.
