Project Description:
Postpartum depression is a condition that affects 13% of women in the general population and 23% of mothers of children born with a disability. The purpose of this investigation is to describe the incidence of postpartum depression of mothers with infants with cleft lip/palate (CL/P) and related craniofacial diagnoses, along with family demographics and patient health outcomes to identify any pattern of risk factors. Infants with CL/P and related craniofacial diagnoses and their mothers will be retrospectively analyzed by chart review, documenting demographics, child medical diagnoses, surgeries, nursing findings, Craniofacial team findings and recommendations, psychosocial follow up, and mother's Edinburgh Postpartum Depression Scale.
