2.10. iTP3 (Innovative Teen Pregnancy Prevention Program) | Multnomah County (Wilson)

The iTP3 (Innovative Teen Pregnancy Prevention Program) is a cooperative agreement between TAMU and the Office of Adolescent Health (Department of Health and Human Services). Funding for iTP3 between June 30, 2016 and July 1, 2017 is $1,500,000. TAMU is funded to support and enable innovation in teen pregnancy prevention and adolescent health. Between June 30, 2016 and July 1, 2017, iTP3 funded 15 innovators in different stages of development, focused on various target populations, and with various implementation settings. One organization, Multnomah County Health Department, was provided funds ($90,000) to support sexuality education for individuals with developmental disabilities. Their program is in the early stages of program development. Their project was funded to focus on the following: bringing together resources for parents and support staff who work with children who have IDD develop/adapt a curriculum for those with IDD using a community advisory group, made up of individuals with IDD, parents, and support staff, to guide and iterate process change social climate in Multnomah County on reproductive health education incorporate a social justice approach so those with IDD can advocate for his or her own sexual health advocate for policy development In addition to funds to support program development, TAMU has provided capacity building and technical assistance in the following areas: Human centered design policy brief writing policy evaluation curricula evaluation
