KU Strengthening Outcomes for All Learners in Inclusive Settings (SOARS)

The KU SOARS personnel preparation program is designed to respond to the urgent national need for preparing high quality special education personnel at the masters level who can provide high quality inclusive education to students with significant intellectual disability and intensive support needs. Given priority focus of ensuring that all students have supports to access the general education curriculum and context, combined with the low rates of movement toward inclusive environments for these students, there is clearly a need for educators with diverse knowledge, skills, dispositions and experiences to provide high quality inclusive education to students with low-incidence disabilities.
