Project Description:
The purpose of this pediatric audiology supplement, is to address the complex leadership and training needs of those audiologists supporting and diagnosing children with ASD/DD by: 1. Strengthening the focus on screening, treatment, and follow-up in infants and young children who are deaf or hard-of-hearing and who have autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and/or other related neurodevelopmental disabilities (DD); 2. Increasing the number of pediatric audiologists with clinical and leadership skills and expertise in delivering care to infants and young children with ASD and/or other DD, utilizing these unique skills to work across disciplines to better serve children with hearing loss and their families; 3. Enhancing the systems capacity to increase enrollment of infants/children with ASD and/or other DD confirmed to be deaf or hard-of-hearing into early intervention programs.
