Project Description:
A need was identified to reach underserved and unserved populations in the community to develop a service coordination system that is responsive to all its stakeholders and create a family-centered Outcomes-Based Information System. MIS-Supported Early Intervention Program Outcomes Evaluation includes the design, implementation and evaluation of the capabilities of a laptop-based, portable data management and program evaluation system to enable parents and service coordinators to document program quality, outcomes, satisfaction, and child/family progress for young children with disabilities. The objectives are to involve families in information system design and use, to build a knowledge base, to be accountable, to produce aggregate data on services and outcomes, and to find out what works and what does not. The major components are to analyze MIS capability, engate stakeholders regarding MIS use, engate stakeholders regrading importand outcomes, and draft and pilot instruments. Expected outcomes are to have a family-centered MIS, to establish a method of documenting and measureing outcomes and service quality and satisfaction, to improve MIS capability to support outcomes evaluation, and to establish a method of documenting family perception of child developmental progress for program planning.
