Project Description:
(Coming)The project is conceptualized in 3 phases: Planning and Preparation, Project Exchange Activities, and Follow-on Activities. The project will recruit and select 28 international fellows from India, Kazakhstan, Armenia and Ukraine to participate in a 4-6 week exchange in Minnesota (20 fellows) and Arizona (8). The exchange will be based on the principles of experiential learning, reflective practice, service learning, and person-centered planning. Sixteen participants who serve as mentors for fellows will travel to the respective countries for 2-3 weeks to follow-up on each countrys grand challenge, conduct workshops on inclusive education, disability policy and advocacy, and provide technical assistance. e. Participants will: (a) gain knowledge and skills inclusive education, and disability policy and advocacy, (b) become role models to others, (c) inspire institutional change in how communities view and treat individual with disabilities and their families.
