Intensive Autism Service Delivery (iASD) Clinic
Project Description:
The WVU CED Intensive Autism Services Delivery (iASD) Clinic serves a two-fold mission: 1) to provide intensive, 1:1 individualized applied behavior analysis treatment to young children with autism and 2) to provide supervised training in evidence-based treatment to WVU students who are working to be the next generation of autism professionals in our state. The iASD Clinic serves a limited number of children with a diagnosis of autism between the ages of 2 and 6 with the goal of increasing pre-academic, social, communication, and adaptive behavior skills in a setting where they learn to learn. During the more than six years we have been in operation, the Clinic provided more than 17,250 hours of services to more than 15 children, many of whom have graduated into less restrictive learning environments as a result of their treatment at iASD. In addition, more than 30,000 hours of hands-on ABA training and supervision, provided by not easily available in West Virginia, to more than 100 WVU students since 2009.
