Fiscal Year:

Contact Information:
Project Description:
This one month intensive therapy intervention took place in a fun camp atmosphere on the UCLA campus. Ambulatory children with spastic CP were invited to participate in daily afternoon sessions. A commitment of 15 sessions was required for enrollment. The intervention consisted of activities to promote skilled isolated movement of the toes, foot, ankle, knee and hip. Movement force, velocity, and degree of selectivity will be assessed. Brain imaging and physical therapy evaluations took place before and after the intervention to look for changes in the corticospinal tract. Initial findings indicate that following treatment fewer tracts were not aligned in the appropriate direction. Researchers are currently in the middle further data analyses.
