Project Description:
Results from a 2012-2015 external evaluation of Pono Choices (PC) demonstrated that students who receive PC had significantly higher knowledge of teen pregnancy and sexually transmitted infection prevention compared to students who received other sexual health education programming. This 2016-2019 project will focus on program sustainability through supporting facilitator training, technical assistance, and community capacity building. Objectives include 400 youth annually receiving the program and trained facilitators on each island. Expected benefits include island based capacity to support implementation and reduced teen pregnancy and STI rates.
