Project Description:
The Omaha Healtyh Start (OHS) project serves as a community-based program for women, infants, toddlers and their families residing in the east/northeast sector of Douglas County, home to the worst maternal and child health outcomes in the county. The program is coordinated by the OHS case management team and supported by a collaboration of medical, social service, and maternal and child care providers. OHS seeks to continue addressing the barriers and systemic issues of poverty, race and economic inequality that contribute to the disproportionately high infant mortality rates and poor MCH outcomes in the OHS program area. MMI Department of Education is responsible for the evaluation of this program. Partners: MMI, Omaha Healthy Start, Charles Drew Medical Center, Douglas County, MIECHV
