Project Description:
This research is to gain information relating to the relationship between parenting styles, parent's sense of competence, social support, daily hassles, and the impact of a childhood disability on the family for a mother who has a young child with a developmental disability. The benefits that will be obtained will allow professionals working with populations of children and their mothers to better understand various contributors to parenting satisfaction, efficacy, and parenting styles. The results will allow professionals to develop and implement beneficial educational and support programs for mothers of children with disabilities. Study sample is mothers of children with disabilities between the ages of 2 and 6.
