Project Description:
The Center for Disabilities, located at the University of South Dakota Sanford School of Medicine, conducts a variety of activities aimed at helping to empower people with disabilities to live, work, and participate fully in their communities. Adventure Camp is a parent-child experience that includes parent training and
fun community activities for all. Parents will be provided with the most effective strategies and interventions to help make community outings a success. CD staff, parents, children and young adults will participate in community activities together using the skills and strategies learned. The Center for Disabilities will
use the Consumer Satisfaction Survey provided by the Council as a measure of satisfaction. A separate survey will also be created for family members and individuals with disabilities to fill out prior to the first Adventure Camp activity and following the last Adventure Camp.
