Project Description:
To work in collaboration with the Council, Indiana Protection and Advocacy Services and other entities yet to be determined to accomplish the following outcomes: An opportunity for Hoosiers to have a deeper understanding of the past experiences, conditions, and contributions of persons with disabilities and their advocates over the period of 1900-present. An opportunity for Hoosiers to gain knowledge of historical changes in cultural attitudes towards persons with disabilities and their advocates and the associated public and institutional responses to the needs, assets and perceived threats associated with disability. An opportunity for residents of Indiana to keep history alive through continuing public discussion and reflection on the subject of disability and community.
