Comparing Behavioral Assessments Using Telehealth for Children w/Autism
Project Description:
National Institute of Mental Health. The major goal of this project is to complete a randomized controlled trial using a non-inferiority design to test whether a pragmatic, less data-intensive version of functional behavioral analysis and functional communication training, delivered through in-home telehealth, is not inferior to a standard version of the same behavioral treatment. The primary outcome is the reduction of problem behavior in young children with autism spectrum disorders. Research sites include the Autism Center @ the University of Iowa Children's Hospital, the Marcus Autism Center @ Emory University and the Children's Healthcare of Atlanta, and the the Center for Autism and Developmental Disabilities at the University of Houston, Clear Lake.
