Center:
Fiscal Year:
2016
Contact Information:
Project Description:
This project responds to the need for demonstrated interprofessional collaborative practice solutions to preventable yet widespread unmet oral health needs in New Mexico. The Center for Development and Disability, in collaboration with the College of Nursing, the Dentals Medicine Program and El Pueblo Health Services Community Health Center, are applying their complementary resources to develop an interprofessional practice based on Core Competencies for Interprofessional Practice. The collaborative practice will improve the oral health of their patients by translating and testing evidence-based oral health interventions to build a primary care oral health care deliver model. The interprofessional project leadership will foster innovation, insure application of substantive formative and summative evaluation and strive to achieve sustainable, replicable and disseminated solutions.
