Project Description:
The Texas Education Agency (TEA), in collaboration with The University of Texas Health Science Centers Childrens Learning Institute (CLI) received a research award from the US Department of Education to develop the Texas Kindergarten Entry Assessment System (TX-KEA). The TX-KEA has the opportunity to enhance the quality and variety of assessment instruments and systems used by Texas 1,227 school districts including up to 400,000 incoming kindergarten students annually. The overall goal of the project is to develop a comprehensive assessment that can be reliably administered by kindergarten teachers and is a valid predictor of academic success.
