Project Description:
Employment Options is a program funded by the Massachusetts Office of Victim Assistance to provide career-counseling services to those impacted by the Boston Marathon Bombing and the related events that followed in 2013. The program provides career exploration, preparation for job search, and assistance securing meaningful employment. Employment Options also helps negotiate accommodations within existing workplaces and can advise about career change. The population being served have varying needs, which includes not just those injured in the bombing, but anyone impacted by the events, the program offers a wide range of direct services. Employment Options informally partners and collaborates with other providers that serve the same population for outreach purposes. Ongoing referrals to available services are made on a regular basis to ensure access to all available programing for survivors. These efforts have proven to be an effective means of engaging those impacted.
