Fiscal Year:
2016
Contact Information:
Project Description:
In an effort to improve both consistency and quality of support coordination, the Missouri Division of Developmental Disabilities unveiled new Missouri Quality Outcomes (MQO). The MQO are intended to be used as a tool to help support coordinators facilitate discussion with individuals and families around seven key areas that impact quality of life outcomes: daily life, community living, social and spirituality, healthy living, safety and security, citizenship and advocacy, and supports to families. UMKC-IHD is partnering with the Missouri Division of Developmental Disabilities (DDD), the Missouri Association of County Developmental Disabilities Services (MACDDS), and the Missouri Developmental Disabilities Council in an evaluation capacity building project. Conducting an evaluation capacity building project is aligned with the MQO, which were developed by listening to people with disabilities, their families, and advocates. The project will be guided by two overarching objectives: 1. Develop an outcome measure that will serve as a valuable tool to help enhance the capacity of the DDD and Senate Bill 40 Boards to develop policies and practices and identify areas of need for support coordination. 2. Validate the measure with a targeted sample of individuals and/or their family members. Meeting these outcomes using evaluation capacity building will require participation of key stakeholders from the DDD, MACDDS, and the Missouri DD Council. Specifically, stakeholders will be involved in the design of the outcome measure, implementation of the measure, interpretation of the data, and dissemination of results.
