Project Description:
This study is a secondary data analysis using the National Institute of Mental Health Data repositories to answer the following questions:
1.Can we use genotype, phenotype, and endophenotype to generate clusters of ASD types that could begin to systematically differentiate individuals across the spectrum?
2.What are the factors contributing to an extremely delayed diagnosis of ASD (defined as age 10 or older)?
3.What are perinatal and early life predictors for ASD?
Individuals with autism are unique and this characteristic makes research into autism difficult. This study will try to determine if there are any ways to group similar individuals with autism, look for ways to diagnose children with autism before they turn 2, and find out why some children with autism get missed and are not diagnosed until after age 10 or even later.
