Project Description:
The Arkansas Autism Partnership (AAP)is the State's Medicaid Waiver Program for young children with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD). It is designed to provide intensive home-based intervention to children between the ages of 18 months and 7 years who meet the medical and level of care criteria. Children may receive p to 30 hours per week of evidence-based intervention based on an individualized plan of care. The most unusual feature of the program is it's requirement that parents be participating members of the intervention team, being present during the treatment and carrying out goals a minimum of 14 hours per week. Outcomes to date have revealed significant improvement in children's functioning across life domains of cooperation, visual performance, receptive/expressive language, play, social interaction, and behavior.
