The Center, in collaboration with the Office of Early Childhood will develop guidance documents and assist in the creation of professional development curricula and materials, based upon the Connecticut Early Learning and Development Standards (CT ELDS), birth through age five. This includes developing: 1) a guidance document for families 2) recommendations on the format/website development for guidance 3) guidance for other professionals (including, but not limited to, physicians, home visitors and consultants in the use of the CT ELDS) 4) guidance on supporting children with disabilities and children who are English Language Learners in various early care and education settings. The UCEDD will work with OEC and Eastern CT State University to create professional development moddules related to CT ELDS with special needs and English Language Learners. This professioonal development will target various audiences including home care providers, center-based programs, and public school programs.
